Gabe is playing Skyrim, a game that was originally released in 2011 and was ported to the Nintendo Switch in 2017. Apparently, this is the first time Gabe has ever actually played Skyrim, as he finds many things Tycho already knows about cool, innovative, and funny.
In particular, Gabe is impressed by the Dragon Shouts, a set of magic spells the player can use. One of these Shouts is the famous "Fus Roh Dah!" cry used in Skyrim's trailers, so it's very difficult to know about Skyrim and not know about the Dragon Shouts. Gabe is also seeing the origin of the "Arrow to the knee" meme, which originated in Skyrim when a guard says to the player "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee." This funny bit of background detail rapidly went memetic and is easily one of the most famous things about Skyrim. Apparently, Gabe, by sheer coincidence, has spent the last six years having fun with the meme and the assorted fanart without ever learning which game it originated from, to Tycho's utter flabbergastation.
Gabe: Oh, man. Do you know about these Dragon Shouts in Skyrim?
Tycho: Fuck you.
Tycho: The game came out six God damn years ago. You are the last creature on Gaia's weathered face to know what a Dragon Shout is.
Tycho: That fucking dog knows about this shit.
Gabe: This guy just said he took an Arrow To The Knee. Whoa!
Gabe: That's from Skyrim?add a comment! ⋅ add a topic (use sparingly)! ⋅ refresh comments!
